Tijuana has reinvented itself over the past two decades into a genuine culinary and arts destination — Baja Med cuisine (blending Mexican technique with Mediterranean and Asian influence) largely originated here.

Avenida Revolución, historically the tourist strip, still has bars, shopping, and the landmark Caesar's restaurant — birthplace of the Caesar salad.

Telefónica Gastro Park and the surrounding Zona Río are a good starting point for the modern food-truck and craft-beer scene; Avenida Sexta ("La Sexta") is the local nightlife strip.

The Centro Cultural Tijuana (CECUT), with its distinctive spherical Omnimax theater, hosts exhibitions, film, and performances year-round.
