Baja Amigo is a utility app and local business marketplace built for English-speaking expats and tourists in Baja California — "Baja at your fingertips."
The idea is simple: everything you need to live in or visit Baja day-to-day — border wait times, exchange rates, Spanish phrases, utility phone numbers, immigration basics, emergency info, and a directory of English-friendly local businesses — in one place, fast, and usable even with no signal.
Why it exists
Moving to or visiting a new country means constantly hunting down scattered information: which lane to use at the border today, what CFE's number is, how much a taco should cost, whether your FMM needs renewing. Baja Amigo pulls that into one app so you're not bookmarking ten different websites and Facebook groups.
Built for offline, too
Cell service isn't always reliable at the border or in smaller towns — so the core tools (converters, phrasebook, emergency contacts, guides) work fully offline once you've opened them once. Live data (exchange rates, border waits, translation) degrades gracefully to cached or static info when you're offline, never a blank screen.
